It was a starting point for the big neighboring Virgin Mary convent which red brick chapel still can be seen from far away around. Ones in the 18th century the local peasants found an icon hanged on the oak nearby the well. It was a very unusual small old looking image of The Virgin Mary with St. Agnia and St. Margaret. The locals tried to find an owner, but in vane. So they took it for a miracle, built a special wooden column for the icon replaced then with a small wooden chapel. The pilgrims started to flow to the place.
In the 19th century the local landlords took the icon to their home, but Father Makary, an Orthodox priest, bought the icon to set up a new big convent in the neighboring village Kolychevo. The icon was placed in the main monastery cathedral framed with precious metals and stones. It had been there till 1918 when it mysteriously disappeared the night before communist confiscation.
Then, in 1918 the convent was closed, but the holy well was being visited by people thru all atheistic years. Now days there is big wooden cross near the holy well for pray and commemoration
